Just gonna jump right into it….Here we go!
- Started using the bigger room at the hotel this week for worship. It was a way better feel, lots of room, and a better sound. The best part? More seats to fill up with people who are far from God!
- With the bigger room, we were able to do better things with our set up. The screen was to the side which gave us more stage space. That for me, means I can actually move around without stepping in front of the screen.
- With the extra space, we now have some dead space to fill up. We would like to add another screen and projector if possible, a few more stage sections, and some pipe and drape. We’ve done very well on a limited budget, so I’m sure God will come through with the things we need again
- Speaking of need…we need a flat screen TV for our children’s area. We have an older TV that’s bulky and takes up a ton of space in our trailer. Any leads on one…let me know
- Saturday we gave out something like 400 9v batteries in Oak Ridge. Started out slow in the morning, but really picked up around lunch time. They were all gone by noon!
- Love seeing people’s faces when you hand them something for free!
- It was a great way to get face to face with people to let them know about the church. But more importantly, we were able to be generous to our community.
- BIG thanks to those that made it out to help (and to those that were there, but we missed!) and also a special thanks to my friend, Jonathan Haskell for coming out to help as well.
- BTW, Jonathan is a man with a Kingdom heart. He loves Jesus above any church, one community or one ministry. We could all learn something….
- Week 3 of Urban Legends was on the myth that God will not put more on us than we can handle.
- Yes…God WILL sometimes make us go through something we can not handle….on our own strength! Why? Because then we will have to depend on him.
- Myth comes from 1 Corinthians 10:13…the bible does not say that He will not put more on us than we can handle
- Don’t believe me…read and STUDY 2 Corinthians 1:8-10 2 Chronicles 20:1-22 just to name a few
- Had a very nice lady come to me after the message and say, ” I was about to tell you were wrong, but I stuck with it and now I really understand it better” Love that!
- Next week should be a lot of fun as we finish the Urban Legends series with the myth that bad things happen because you don’t have enough faith
- If you attend the Ridge…do whatever it takes short of sinning to get people to the Ridge on Sunday. People far from God NEED to hear this message this week!
