The Latest

I think it’s actually been awhile since I did a random post on thoughts, the latest in my personal life, and so on, so I thought I would do a quick drop of info.

• Maybe the funniest thing I’ve seen all day was how someone navigated to this blog asking the question, ” is the Ridge Community Church a cult?”  Google it.  This blog is the first choice.  But if you need to know, the answer is a big fat, NO we are NOT.  For further myths debunked about the Ridge, see THIS post
• Recently moved into a new house and I have to say that I now remember what I hate most about moving; the putting things away that last for days on end.  We’re making progress, but slowly.
• Last week I declared a Twitter siesta for myself.  To be honest, I’m not missing it as of now.  I’ll be back at it soon I’m sure, but for now it’s a nice break.
• My wife, son and I are taking a much needed few days of vacation in about 2 weeks.  Not exactly sure where we are going, but if anyone wants to hook a pastor up, let me know!
• My Tennessee Volunteers football team is not looking too hot this season.  I’m predicting a 6 win season.
• The flip side is the team that I pastor, the Clinton High School Dragons are looking better each week.  Currently at 6-0 and up to 2nd in the state!
• Not having TV or internet in our new house is sort of weird.  We are a blessed nation with a lot of extras we take for granted.
• Looking forward to having our house in order so I can spend some quality time with my wife and son.
• I was pretty excited about the new Monster Energy drinks coming out this week.  The green is slightly above average and the orange is so so.  I think I’m an original Monster fan.
• The fall weather is moving into east Tennessee and I’m loving it!  It’s the best time of year.  To get in the mood I need some Cracker Barrel, O Brother Where Art Thou, Legends of the Fall, football and pumpkin pie….in no particular order.  The only thing missing is an Xbox 360 or PS3 with Madden or NCAA 10.  If you have a 360 or PS3 you wanna give away, I know of a good home ha!
• Speaking of seasons, I absolutely love this season we are in at the Ridge.  People are checking out the fireworks, God is changing lives, and there’s a ton of potential on the horizon!
