More FAQs About The Ridge Community Church

Yesterday I answered some basic FAQs for you about The Ridge.  I’ll take today to answer a few more…..

  • Do you really hand out ear plugs at the door?
    • YES.  Very true.  We hand out ear plugs at the door because our worship experience is loud.  Two reasons why this….
      • 1) We are in a room that the sound has no place to escape, thus making it loud
      • 2) We like it loud
    • We believe that our God is a great God and he deserves a great response. So why not make it loud?  We want you to sing at the top of your lungs out to God.  You won’t sing if it’s not loud because you don’t want the person next to you to hear you.  It blows me away that as loud as it is on Sundays, you can still hear the crowd sing out over the music.  It’s an awesome feeling and experience to see people worship like that.
  • Do you have a men’s and women’s ministry?
    • No.  It’s our belief that God called us to plow deep, not wide.  We can’t do everything and do it well. We don’t want to. We want to focus on one thing…making it hard for people to go to hell by creating a place that exists so that people who are distant from God will be awakened to life in Christ. Period.
  • So if you don’t do any of that extra stuff, do you have something for children?
    • YES!  And students! We have what we call Kid City for children ages infant through 5th grade.  It takes place at the same time during the worship experience.  We want your children to encounter God, so through Kid City, we aim to create an environment that will be fun, safe, challenging and point them toward Jesus.  It will be one of the best hours of their week!  For students middle school through high school, we are on the verge of launching a very unique approach to student ministry.  Throw out what you think you know about youth groups, because this isn’t going to be that.  It’s coming very soon!
  • Why do you use and talk about social media so much like Twitter and Facebook?
    • Because, Jesus went where the people are.  Enough said.  Being irrelevant is being irreverant.  You can follow us on twitter at twitter.com/theridgechurch and HERE on Facebook!
