Sunday Replay

I can feel momentum building at The Ridge!

The weekend services started with our August Rock Night: A Night of Worship
I’m debating on whether or not I should tell you about it if you missed it.
It was a special event and I’m so glad that we did it.
I will say just a few short things about it….

  • It was so hot! I was sweating like a baptist in a liquor store.
  • Yes I said that out loud
  • The song set was amazing
  • The band is one of the best around! We’re blessed!
  • Can’t wait till we do it again in December!

When I woke up Sunday I knew it was Sunday because it was raining.
I complain a lot about the rain, but it really does seem like it rains every Sunday.
But we were lucky, it only rained during set up.
The rest of the day was beautiful!

I love being a portable church because every Sunday poses a new challenge.
This week it was being in a different room.
This room is a bit smaller so we had to do without part of the stage.
The team made it happen and didn’t miss a beat.
After setting up on Saturday night at the Grove, I’m thankful for a smaller venue.

I LOVE seeing new faces at the Ridge!
We had 15 first time guests and some folks who haven’t been able to be there in awhile.

The band feeds off the energy of the crowd.
So if you’re an attender, clap, sing, and get down with it!

Funny story; I only had half my notes with me Sunday morning.
Good thing I knew what I was talking about.

Speaking of, we talked about our 5th Core Value, Deliver Wow
We must infiltrate the culture to influence the culture
We deliver wow so that people who are distant from God will be awakened to life in Christ.
When that happens, all you can say is, Wow!
I told the story of me flunking out of college.
I know some people don’t like that, but all I have to say is if you want a pastor to have a degree before he leads a church, then you probably don’t like the disciples much….or Jesus for that matter!
Go ahead….look it up.
You are a billboard for God’s glory. When wow happens in your life you get to reflect that glory.
When you do EVERYTHING in the name of Jesus, you get to tell God’s story.

A few more weeks of crowds like we had on Sunday and we’ll be moving to two services!
There were not many seats left on Sunday.
Gotta love that!

In a few weeks we start a brand new series called The Gospel.
If you have friends who are distant from God, GET THEM HERE!
All we’re gonna do is preach the gospel!
